So.. these 3 books are at the top of my list...

Simply Scandinavian:
Scandinavian interior design is admired the world over for its unpretentious simplicity and understated elegance. Rooms are typically airy, light and bright. Furnishings are modern design classics from the key names of Scandinavian design usually mixed with pretty antique and vintage pieces. The beauty of natural materials, especially wood, is celebrated in the home. It's a style that's in tune with today's wish for calm, uncluttered spaces to live in. The 20 homes featured in this book are presented as case studies, with chapters including Elegant Simplicity, Pared-down Modern, Contemporary Rustic and Eclectic. Each home showcases an aspect of Scandinavian interior design and the home owners include architects, fashion and jewellery designers and antique dealers.

Parisian Chic:
Celebrity model Inès de la Fressange shares the well-kept secrets of how Parisian women maintain effortless glamour and a timeless allure. Inès de la Fressange—France’s icon of chic—shares her personal tips for living with style and charm, gleaned from decades in the fashion industry. She offers specific pointers on how to dress like a Parisian, including how to mix affordable basics with high-fashion touches, and how to accessorize. Her step-by-step do’s and don’ts are accompanied by fashion photography, and the book is personalized with her charming drawings.

The Art and Flair of Mary Blair:
For more than a dozen years, an unassuming, quiet-spoken woman dominated Disney design. The stylishness and vibrant color of Disney films in the early 1940s through mid-1950s came primarily from artist Mary Blair. In her prime, she was an amazingly prolific American artist who enlivened and influenced the not-so-small worlds of film, print, theme parks, architectural decor, and advertising. At its core, her art represented joyful creativity and communicated pure pleasure to the viewer. Her exuberant fantasies brimmed with beauty, charm, and wit, melding a child's fresh eye with adult experience. Blair's personal flair comprised the imagery that flowed effortlessly and continually for more than a half a century from her brush. Emulated by many, she remains inimitable: a dazzling sorceress of design and color.

West Elm - Why These 2 Bedrooms Work

I love these 2 bedrooms from West Elm.
Here are some tips as to how these two pull the looks together...

Neutral Rustic:
This room really has a country feel, but not overdone. Starting with neutral walls, floor and furniture really helps the room come to life by adding the themed touches to the decoration.
Using textured and natural elements such as; timber/metal - seen in the chair, glass jars, woven materials such as the basket and rug, and faux fur to add comfort and warmth to the room. Adding foliage to the room compliments the natural elements and adds some colour.

Modern Chic:
Again - starting off with neutral colours are great staples to build whatever theme you desire. This room really shines due to its more darker nature seen in the timber floors, so work with this feature by adding contrast to your decorations but keeping your furniture in the same tones.
The Tribal Kilm and Moroccan Pouffe add some culture and breaks up the stillness of the room. The pattern and colours offer a contrast to the floors. The side lamp and picture frames compliments the furniture and adds a chic/quirky touch. The foliage adds some texture and colour but has brought it back to a modern look with its vase.
